Practice Times: Wednesday Evening
Angel Choir , Junior Choir , Youth Choir : 6:15-6:45pm
Adult Choir : 6:45- 8:00pm
The Angel Choir (ages 3-5)
is directed by Robbie Ooten who holds a Bachelor of Science
degree in Music therapy. Robbie's assistant, Kim Cox, helps
keep these precious angels busy by singing, moving and playing
instruments. The children learn about music and Jesus as
well as offering up perfect praise! Angel choir sings a
small concert at Christmastime and in the Spring.
The Junior Choir (K- 5th
grade) is co directed by Ed Elliott (B.S. Music Ed) and
Stacey Wood (MME). Through musical plays the children learn
more about the bible and Jesus. Twice a year these children
perform with drama, singing and choreography. At other times
children work on ear training and singing games. Their performances
are always a blessing to our congregation, not only due
their talent, but the beautiful simplicity in their message.
The Youth Choir (6th- 12th
grade) is co directed by Ed Elliott and Stacey Wood. At
this level, pre-teens and teens are taught to sing in three
parts. Focus is on more complex music, with an emphasis
on contemporary issues. As well as musicals, students learn
individual octavos and we focus on some solo singing.
The Adult Choir (college and up)
Well established and sometimes overly comfortable, is our
adult choir. Many have been around for ten years or more,
but we always love to see new faces and take them in as
one of our own. (Scary as that may sound). The choir sings
a varied repertoire of music from classical to contemporary,
gospel to country sounds. We feel the choir is a major facilitator
in our worship service. We try to include our congregation
as much as possible in singing to lift our praises to the
Lord.
Summer Music Camps I and II
A week long camp is held in the summer for both angel camp
age and junior camp age. Each morning new music is learned and/or
drama. Performances on Friday night of camp are always a blessing.
We feel this is wonderful community ministry.
