Missions

“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.”

Matthew 28:19

The members of PSFUMC include a diverse group of people. Many come from non-Methodist backgrounds. We do all have one thing in common and that is our love of Jesus and our desire to follow his word. Jesus instructed us to “go out and make disciples of all nations” and we do this in a variety of ways.

OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD - Operation Christmas child is an annual project of Samaritan’s Purse. This past year caring people around the world packed more than 7.6 million gift filled shoe boxes to help share God’s love and the Good News of Jesus Christ. PSFUMC participates in this program each November. National collection week begins November 12th - 19th.

SWEETWATER VALLEY COMMUNITY ACTION PROGRAM - Camp provides emergency services to individuals and families in Mableton, Clarkdale, Austell and Powder Springs. They provide food, clothing, medical prescriptions and help with payment of rent and utilities.
PSFUMC supports Camp in a variety of ways and is proud to have the Director, Darlene Duke, as one of our members.

BREAKFREE MINISTRY, INC. - A ministry to partner with local churches to provide aftercare to youth leaving the Paulding Regional Youth Detention Center. While incarcerated, 1,300 youth came to know Jesus as their Lord and Savior in 2001. These youth need a lot of support when released to prevent them from falling back into old habits.

CAMPUS OUTREACH BRAZIL - This program “builds laborers through the college campus for the lost world”. Russell and Wendy Long head the Brazilian Campus Outreach program at UFMG. We are blessed to have had Russell grow up at PSFUMC. He and his wife work with their team to spread God’s word to the students at UFMG.
